David Crosby

 American musician and composer David Crosby is best known for being a founding member of the classic rock groups The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Crosby began his musical career in the early 1960s as a member of The Byrds, a folk-rock group famed for singles including "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!" Crosby was born in Los Angeles, California in 1941. In 1967, he disbanded the group and later co-founded Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) with Graham Nash and Stephen Stills. Crosby, Stills & Nash, the group's debut album, was released in 1969 and includes the smash singles "Marrakesh Express" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes."

When Neil Young joined the band in 1970, it changed its name to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). They jointly produced a number of critically lauded albums and popular songs, such as "Ohio" and "Southern Man." The band was well-known for their activity in support of civil rights and anti-war causes, and its music and lyrics frequently reflected the political and social challenges of the day.

Crosby has enjoyed success in his solo career, putting out a number of albums over the years. His 1971 release, "If I Could Only Remember My Name," received high accolades for its avant-garde and experimental songwriting techniques. He still performs and tours today, frequently alongside different CSN and CSNY iterations.
