A History of Success for the Dallas Cowboys, both on and off the Field
The Dallas Cowboys: A History of Success on and off the Field |
Beginning in 2002, the Cowboys played 190 consecutive regular-season and postseason home and road games to capacity crowds. Eight Super Bowl appearances put the team in a tie for second place in Super Bowl history with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos, only one behind the New England Patriots record-breaking eleven appearances. Additionally, eight NFC championships—the most in the NFC—have coincided with this.
The San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers both have a record six Super Bowl victories, while the Cowboys have five victories in their five Super Bowl appearances, tying them with their NFC rivals. The Cowboys hold the NFL record for the most consecutive winning seasons with 20, from 1966 to 1985, and they only missed the playoffs twice (1974 and 1984).
